Is the Spring Season Coming!

Glad to see so many faces at Game Night last night! What a great event!

Literacy:

This week we started a new unit on Seasons and Weather. This unit will introduce students to the concept of weather and the different regions of Earth and the different weather patterns through the year. They will also learn we can think about a year and the related weather patterns in terms of four seasons: winter, spring, summer, and autumn. Students will also learn why knowing about the weather is important, and how weather affects our daily lives and activities.

Next week we are hoping to add some fun into the day as we learn about the different seasons. Different activities and what we wear depends on the season.

Here is the schedule:

Monday: Winter- Wear your favorite hat and scarf.

Tuesday: Spring- Bring your umbrella to read under.

Wednesday: Summer-bring a beach towel to sit on.

Thursday: Fall-Wear your favorite sweatshirt

Our Dramatic play station has turned into a Weather and News station! It is so fun to watch them act out this activity.

100 Day of School

n Math we finished up those bigger numbers to 100 and it worked out to be the 100th day of school. We enjoyed many stations with the number 100, counting, being quiet for 100 seconds, doing 100 jumping jacks, reading some fun counting books. We will now be comparing numbers and talking about more, less and the same. Then how many more, how many less. Getting ready for addition!
