Concert is Monday!

Don't forget Monday Dec. 10th is our concert at the High School Auditorium. Students need to arrive at 6:45 and meet in the choir room. Dress nicely in holiday clothes.

Literacy: this wee we were learning about Farms. We talked about cows, pigs, chickens and sheep. We learned about why a farmer would want each of these animals and why they are important. We also talked about different food products that comes from animals and crops grown on a farm. Students are making a non-fiction book about farms with their facts.

Phonics: This week we learned a new tricky word "blue". We moved on to the new sounds of /r/, /l/, /b/, and our last vowel /u/. Thanks for working on those candy words and phrases at home! Students are zooming through them.

Math: This week we finished up our Measurement unit. We talked about weight and capacity. We used a scale and cubes to measure. We also dug into teen numbers this week. focusing on the a "ten frame" and understanding that the number 11 is 10 and one more. The number 12 is 10 and 2 more.

Tie Shoes- Shoe tying is a very important skill for a child to learn as they get their first pair of tie shoes. I am asking that if your child wears tie shoes at school that you make it a priority to help them tie their shoes. Not only is it so helpful to me with 17 students, but also, but a life long skill.

Congratulations to Adyson P! She is our STAR student this week. She is such a hard worker, a model friend for others, and is a very responsible student. Congratulations Adyson.

Don't forget to bring money for the Santa shop. Everything is 2.00. A sheet came home to fill out today, so the elves can help your student shop. Bring in money either Wednesday or Thursday of next week.

Happy Weekend! Enjoy the snow and some outside play.
